Truth at What Cost?

What does it cost us to be truthful?
That is what I am wondering today.
I am wearing my Christopher Kane snarling ape T-shirt in an attempt to figure it out.
I have also removed all traces of Neon Orange nail polish in exchange for a subtle dove grey.
When your head is full of nonsense its better to keep a low profile.

Why do we avoid the truth? Its counter intuitive but we do it anyway.
I don't like the truth. I prefer fiction and fantasy.
Why is this?
Because some truths are really fantastic.

Is it because we learn as a child that truth gets punished!??!
Is it because we realise truth can disappoint?
Is it because truth can hurt someone's feelings?
is it because truth gets too hot to handle?!?!??!

This is the complete and utter nonsense that I think when I am sitting alone.
